Crisis Lines and Informational Links

If you're in a mental health crisis, you're not alone.

 

Below, we've compiled a list of resources for mental health, eating disorders, dealing with trauma, and suicide prevention.  

 

 

 

Crisis Text Line - If you're within the United States, text HOME to 741741 to connect with a Crisis Counselor at any time. Support is offered in English and Spanish. For international support, click here.

 

 

National Eating Disorders Association - A nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and their families who are affected by eating disorders. They offer a helpline, inspirational stories, and informative articles.

 

 

The National Alliance on Mental Illness - NAMI is an organization dedicated to supporting the mental health of Americans. It is the largest grassroots mental health support organization in the country.

 

 

The Jed Foundation - A foundation dedicated to the emotional and mental health of college students, working to prevent suidice as a result of mental distress for young adults.

 

 

Anxiety and Depression Association of AmericaA mental health association that spreads awareness through newsletters and offers resources for varying mental health conditions.

 

 

Freedom from FearA nonprofit organization with free information on anxiety and depression backed with research and science. 

 

 

The Trevor Project - An organization that provides 24/7 support to the youth of the LGBTQ+ community. Their services include suicide prevention and crisis intervention.

 

 

The World Health Organization - The WHO has a database of relevant research, self-help links, and stories for mental health.

 

 

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration - SAMHSA offers a free, confidential, and 24/7 national helpline for those in need of treatment referrals and important information about mental health and substance abuse. Services are offered in both English and Spanish. Call 1-800-662-HELP (extension number: 4357) for support. 

 

 

Space to Speak - This organization offers resources for survivors of sexual assault and rape victims.

 

 

National Suicide Prevention Hotline - This hotline provides free, 24/7 suicide prevention support, including prevention and crisis resources. Call 1-800-273-8255 for support.

 

 

NVISION Line Centers Mental Health Guide - NVISION's mental health guide touches upon various mental health challenges that come with having vision impairment including causes, treatment, and resources for those struggling to find help
