A Letter to Mom

Written by Shriya

Dear Mom (or Dad) (or whoever is reading this right now),

Imagine the scent of chocolate tinting the air, and heaps of laughter everywhere. Roller coasters speeding up to down, and hershey kisses, the best in town.  This, is Hershey park.  If you haven’t guessed already, I am writing to ask for a family trip to Hershey park.  My reasons are that, the Hershey park trip would be a benefit for you, Samantha, and me, and I could pitch in to earn the trip.

Hershey park. I love Hershey chocolates, and I love parks.  Put them together, and you get something I love twice as much: Hershey Park!  Hershey Park is probably every kid’s dream, which is why I ask you to help me out here.  This trip will be an extraordinary experience, not just for me, but for Samantha as well!  Despite the fact that Samantha believes Hershey Park is made out of chocolate, I reassure you, she’ll love it there.  Going to Hershey Park will also help Samantha and I bond.  Isn’t that what you want?  Sister-bonding stuff going on?  Not only will this trip help Samantha and I bond, but It will help all of us bond too.

Yes, that’s right.  This trip to Hershey Park can benefit you too!  First off, we will all bond, and we’ll be closer together as a family than we were before the trip!  Also, (depends on who you are) even though I doubt you’ll look forward to this one, imagine how fun it’ll be to go onto all of the rides.  Mom will love the 4D theater, and dad will enjoy the rides with Samantha and I.  Plus, you two need a vacation, you guys have got to face the fact: you’ve got to get out of the house more.  We’ve been trapped in there as if we’ve been trapped in a cage (no going outside accept for job, school, and groceries), and this has been going on for like, a hundred years! It’s time to have a little fun, don’t you think?

*Sigh* I knew I would have to come to this eventually.  The price.  The one thing about the trip that you might not be a fan of.  I understand that you two are busy, and aren’t the kind of people who like to throw money around.  Don’t get worked up about this one though, I’m sure we can find some tickets on sale somewhere.  And I’m sure Samantha and I can earn the trip, by not asking for anything (not constantly buying stuff for us), and by doing chores (such as doing our own laundry for every other month, and doing the dishes every weekend). I even have about 100$, so maybe that can help soften the hard cost of the Hershey Trip.  With the tickets on sale, Samantha and I not asking you to buy us something else, me pitching in with the money, and Samantha and I doing extra chores, like cleaning the basement, and dusting the furniture, facts will show. You won’t have to worry about the cost of the trip.

Like I said before, I would really, really appreciate it if you could let us have a family trip to Hershey Park.  This trip will benefit Samantha, you guys, and me, and the cost of the trip won’t be so hurtful.  Please, take some time to consider your answer.  I would not like an immediate “No”, or “Yes”.  Thank you for listening, and I hope your answer is from pure truth. And I also hope you’ve got good reasons to back up your answer.

Love,

Your wonderful daughter.

P.S.

Wait!

If you already have your answer in mind, and it’s “No”, then can we go to Disney World this summer? Oh boy, I’ve got a whole other letter asking for that...
