Written by Lisa Jain
I feel like all my life,
I’ve been surrounded
by unsuccessful
eraser bits.
My thoughts have turned on themselves,
Merely reflecting awful memories
I wish could have been forgotten.
I languish in my loveless,
regretful mind.
And fail to see the time go by
outside my window.
These memories would have been only memories,
if I’d let them be.
But I ponder them restlessly.
And they keep my eyes sleepless at night.
As they believe they can see the memories
come to life in my bedroom.
Lisa Jain is a poet from Kent, the Garden of England. As a 16-year-old, she’s dabbled in a few forms of expressive writing, including poetry, spoken word, and flash fiction.
