Buried a mile underground,
No one can hear a thing.
I wonder if her words will scream louder
If spray painted on the ally side
of a building in NYC
Or tattooed onto praised skin.
Or spoken by lips bolded with experience.
Sweet air fills her lungs
Only on occasion
When the smoke is lighter than
The commotion of city life.
