Frozen World: The Theme Park!

Written by Ria Kundu

Abby's eyes widened at the sight of the sparkling park. Everything looked as if it were made of Ice.  But how could that be?  thought Abby, her hair tangling in the summer breeze. Abbey looked up at a sign that read, WELCOME TO FROZEN WORLD!!! In all bold, and capital letters. It looked as if it were engraved in ice.

“Come on!” Cried her sister, Emma. “We only have two hours before mom and dad come!”

Abby cautiously stepped through the entrance, and towards the ticket stand, where her sister stood waiting. The moment she stepped through the entrance, a blast of tangerine scent filled up Abby’s nose, and was so strong, she could almost taste it . The ticket stand looked like it was the only thing in the whole park that wasn’t made of ice, or covered in sparkles. Emma checked them in, and they got to pass!

As they made their way towards the dashing rides, Abby realized that to her left, there was a small ice roller coaster slowly climbing up its track, and as almost everything else in the park, it was made from ice. Abbey tugged on her sister’s sleeve, asking, “Why isn’t the ice melting? It’s summertime!”

“Because this isn’t just normal ice. No, it’s magic ice.”

Abby gasped, her eyes growing larger like a balloon, “Magic ice?”

“Yes,” responded Emma “Made by Elsa. She made sure that the ice was super magical, so no one would feel cold when they touched it.”

Excited, the six year old, jumped up, and exclaimed, “Then watta we waiting for?”

Nearby, there was a pole with many maps and brochures in it’s cuby. All of the brochures looked identical, and had a picture of Elsa, Sven, Olaf, Christoff, and Anna, while others just had a picture of one or two characters. Emma ran her fingers across the pole that held the pamphlets, and was surprised to find it very smooth.

My sister rolled her eyes, and whispered loud enough to herself for Abby to hear, “Talk about over doing it! Everything everywhere is covered in sparkles and ‘ice’”

Privately, Abby agreed. But she didn’t say so, the park looked so thrilling and cheerful, she didn’t want to start off all grumpy.

Emma stood, trying to make sense of the map, while Abby was left to think of rides. “Come on Emma! I want to go to Elsa’s ice palace!”

“How about we go on some of the other rides? There’s that swaying ship you like!”

As the two kids made their way towards the ride, they spotted Sven and his other reindeer friends pulling a family of three in a sled very fast… too fast. The family was crying out, and the mother was clutching her child as if they were about to be plunged to their doom.

“Hey,” Abby tugged on Emma’s shirt “Can we go on that one first? All the other amusement parks we’ve been to have horsey rides, but they’re always so slow! This one seems to be fun.”

The reindeer started kicking at the air, like some invisible man were upsetting the creature. Finally, the reindeer jumped over the fence, and started pushing over everything in its path.

“Abbey…” Started Emma, “I think we better run!”

The sisters ran as they entered Arendell. Shops and carnival rides zoomed past them.  They could hear the screams of other people pierce the air, and fear infecting everyone. Panting, both girls stopped to rest.

The hooves stomping and screaming had stopped.

“I guess they caught him,” Said Emma between gasps for air.

“But what happened?” Asked Abby, “Why did he go all crazy?”

Her sister shrugged as she stood up, dusting herself off. “I guess we’ll never know.” Abby decided against bringing up the thought as the sisters enjoyed the rest of their day. And if you asked either one of them, they would both agree that Frozen World was amazing.
