Leavetaking

Vacation is over;

It’s time to depart.

I must leave behind

(Although it breaks my heart)

 

The sweet smell of ‘s'mores,

fireflies and pesky mosquitoes,

harsh hiking,

and hard cabin doors.

 

For I’m packing only 

Necessities:

A full sky spotted with bright stars,

and two very badly skinned knees.
