Written by Eli Sack
There's someplace where the shadows lie,
Where the darkness plays,
And the light don't stay,
And everything is paralyzed.
There's someplace where the shadows lie,
Where the sun don't rise,
And the stars don't shine,
And no one can close their eyes.
There's someplace where the shadows lie,
Where it's not a dream,
And it's ripped at the seams,
And you can't help but cry.
There's someplace where the shadows lie,
And I can't leave,
And truths are seeds,
That slowly, slowly, start to die.
I'm waiting in the solid dark,
Hoping for a brighter heart,
Wishing I'll get torn apart,
Knowing this is just the start.
Call me gay,
It's not my name,
Call me weak,
My name's defeat.
There's someplace where the shadows lie,
Where the darkness plays,
And the light don't stay,
And everything is paralyzed.
There's someplace where the shadows lie,
Where the world is frozen still,
And rain drops on the sill,
And everyone is dead inside.
